Mimulus guttatus - Seep Monkeyflower

This adorable herbaceous perennial (and sometimes annual) can be found growing along stream banks and seeps in the pacific Northwest in variable forms. The plant only grows up to 80 cm tall. The leaves are opposite, 1-5 cm long, irregularly toothed, and sometimes clasp the stems. The feature flowers are a cheerful sunny yellow color, strongly two-lipped, and sometimes have small, reddish brown spots inside the mouth of the flower.

Plant in wet areas in average, moderately drained soil, along the edges of a pond, stream, or fountain.

Zones: 6 to 9

Family: SCROPHULAREACEAE
