Chittamwood grows to 20-30 feet can have equal spread. Its large oval leaves, 5-8" or more, emerge in spring in soft pastel shades, with blue and pink tones, then give a stunning display of brilliant orange, red, purple in fall. Winter structure is attractive, too. Often multi-stemmed, and re-growing from the base if pruned hard, this is a dramatic tree. Like others of its species, it prefers lean soil, full sun, and not much water.
