A small spreading tree, 25-30ft, with smooth olive-green bark, Henry's Maple is rather rare in cultivation. Its leaves emerge bronze, are dark green in summer, and show brilliant red with yellow in fall. Leaves have three leaflets, to 4in, with pointed tips. Henrys Maple has green flowers in pendent clusters, appearing before the leaves. It is interesting year round. It is lovely in front of an evergreen background, in a lawn, used as a specimen or sheltering a low, mixed planting of shade-lovers.
